ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture involves the insertion of sterile, single-use, hair-thin needles at specific points on the body. These points are organized along pathways called channels. Stimulation of these points restores the healthy flow of information along the channels between the various systems that regulate health and balance in the body. Acupuncture sessions often include massage, herbs and other modalities. read more here

Massage Therapy & Body Work encompass a broad range of healing modalities. From Deep Tissue Massage and Myo-fascial Release which use firm pressure and realign soft tissue systems to Swedish Circulation and Lymphatic Drainage that use lighter pressure to direct and balance the body's various fluid dynamics, There is a style and plan for every issue. read more here

Traditional East Asian Medicine possesses the most intricate system of herbal medicine in the world. Formulas are tailored to each individual and the nuances of each condition. Herbs can be taken as a tea, a powder dissolved into water, or in pill form. read more here

Moxibustion, GuaSha and Cupping Therapy are all well-known tools of Traditional East Asian Medicine and are included in most of our treatment plans. They are even gaining fame in the west as athletes and trend-setters experience their benefits. They each have their specific strengths and by including them we can often significantly increase the power of our treatments. read more here
How we work
&
What to expect
Scheduling: Please use our online portal system (the little green button!) to make and manage your appointments. If you have any issues or would like our help booking your appointment you can email us at uprightacupuncturenh@gmail.com. You can also email us if you have any questions at all before you come in! Once you have scheduled you'll receive an email invitation to create a password for your online portal where you can fill out your medical and consent forms (no need to print anything and no forms to fill out when you get here!). Please use a computer with a normal browser, not a "smart-device", to fill your forms out before your visit.
First Visit: (90 minutes) We will show you around our clinic and go through some pre-treatment screening procedures and introductions. At this point we will also answer any questions you might have. We will then discuss your symptoms in detail and talk through your goals. We will take a thorough health history and ask a lot of questions that are designed to pinpoint the root of your symptoms. We will explain what is going on, and what we can do about it. We will then create your treatment plan, explain it fully to you and finally we'll get to the treatment itself! This treatment will be designed specifically to address the situation we have discussed and may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, guasha, moxibustion, cupping therapy or massage/bodywork therapy. There is no additional cost for the extra things we do!

Follow-up Visits: (60 minutes) You can book follow-ups while you are in the clinic, online through the portal or by emailing us. At each follow-up we will briefly check in to see how you are doing, then we'll get right to work. Adjustments to the treatment plan will be made each time we see you so that your progress is moved forward as much as possible at each visit.

Payment: Initial appointments are $130 and follow-up appointments are $90. This includes EVERYTHING that we do in your session. There is an additional cost if you are going to purchase herbs. The cost of the herbs includes a small stocking fee but we do not make any profit from anything we prescribe to you. We accept payment at time of service and are not "in-network" with any insurance providers. If you have out-of-network acupuncture coverage we can supply you with a "superbill" upon email request which you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many of our patients get fully reimbursed for their treatments!
