James Mohebali L.Ac, DACM, CST-T
James has a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and is a certified craniosacral therapist. He specializes in pediatric acupuncture, treating all conditions from newborn colic to teenage pre-college anxiety. In addition, he treats patients of all ages for a wide variety of health and wellness issues. He founded and ran a family acupuncture practice in North Carolina for over 5 years before relocating to the Seacoast and joining Upright Acupuncture & Wellness. We are very excited to share his broad expertise and compassionate approach with you!

James has always been passionate about pediatrics from early in his medical education—his first patient was 8 years old! As a result, he has pursued the highest quality post-graduate education in pediatrics and studied specialized tools and techniques that make treatment enjoyable and accessible to even the most sensitive kids. He incorporates a wide variety of treatment techniques, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and non-needle techniques like laser, acupressure, pediatric therapeutic massage/tui na. His in-depth study of craniosacral therapy with the Upledger Institute (over 300 hours!) began because he wanted to have the hands-on skills to deliver gentle and effective treatment to any child. His treatments are patient-centric—we will never do anything that your child doesn’t want to do! Children love receiving treatment with James, and look forward to coming in to the office for their “tiny taps” (pediatric acupuncture needles).
Working with adults, James has a lot of experience treating everything from pain to digestive disorder, from insomnia to stress. He especially loves working with complex and chronic conditions, like autoimmune disease (Lupus, MS, RA, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s), cancer support, insect-borne illness (Lyme disease), and severe headaches/migraines. He also loves working with mental-emotional conditions, including depression, insomnia, anxiety, PTSD and CPTSD.
